Pevanty, Levanty,
Kings of the Amorites:
Finally vanquished, a
Terrible slog.

Humbled, they now provide
Nomenclatorial
Laughs for bar mitzvah boys:
Sichon and Og!

And since it’s a special occasion – the very last one in this cycle of Torah portions – let me add:

Siyyumy-siyyumy,
Dactyllic parshiyot:
Some rhymes were brilliant,
Some were just dreck.

Still, I discharged all my
Idiosyncrasy –
So now: “Chazak, chazak
V’nitchazek!”
